Expect the first international “Love for the Circus” celebration only in VeliLand!

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the creation of Bulgarian circus art. Inspired by the history and world awards of Bulgarian artists, on September 16th and 17th, VeliLand (city of Velingrad) organized a two-day national holiday “Love for the Circus” in the city of Velingrad.

Enjoy a never-before-seen circus mega-spectacle with some of the most famous circus artists from Mongolia, Brazil, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Bulgaria. Among the special participants in the celebration will be the illusionist Zain, the equilibrist Alex Kostov and the Nikolovi brothers, who successfully represent our country at international and world gymnastics competitions and circus festivals.

The artists participating in the performances will show their best, competing for the special awards of “Love for the Circus” – a golden, silver and bronze heart. The professional jury is represented by some of the most proven names in Bulgarian circus art – Encho Kiryazov, Krum Parvanov, Hristo Kovachev, as well as Chris Dobrich – grandson of the patriarch of the Bulgarian circus Lazar Dobrich, participant in the Dobrich troupe – the only Bulgarian winners of the award “Oscar” for circus art. The jury will have the difficult task of selecting and awarding the best of the best artists at a gala ceremony. The audience will also take part in the award ceremony, which will choose its favorite, whom it will award with the special “Audience Award”.

The host of the event will be everyone’s favorite Dragomir Draganov, who, in addition to his brilliant television career, is also known for his love for circus art. He created the only virtual museum of Bulgarian circus art in Bulgaria, and his collection includes over 10,000 posters and nearly 5,000 programs from performances of Bulgarian and world circuses.

The two days will be filled with many colorful and fun games for young and old, an open stage with concerts of various groups and performers awaits you, and among the surprises on the 17th is Bilyan Mollov, better known as Billy the Kid.

It includes various sports racing games for children aged 5 to 12 years.
